Danny began his career drawing plans and using his attention to detail on intricate auto body designs in Detroit. For 45 years, he developed and honed a skillset that would help him as he embarked on his favorite craft that followed him into retirement: researching, designing, and building models. Among them ships, cars, trollies, and wagons - all from scratch. Each project starts with a keen interest in a historical artifact, which leads to the research and beginning stages of outlining the design and drawing proportions. Next is the process of bending and shaping wood parts in his basement shop, followed by the molding of materials and fabrication of unique accents and parts. Many projects take months to finish, some even taking years.
